"Real Housewives of DC" cast member signs to run NPC 5K, June 11

Mary Amons, a cast member of Bravo TV’s “The Real Housewives of DC” and host of “Keeping it Real with Mary!” on WMZQ radio, will run in the National Press Club’s 14th Annual Beat the Deadline 5K on Saturday, June 11.

Amons joins a growing list of celebrities that includes race marshals P90X creator Tony Horton, “CNN Newsroom” anchor Suzanne Malveaux, supermodel Kim Alexis, and CNN correspondent Jill Dougherty.

Amons is founder of “Labels for Love,” a nonprofit that supports awareness to women’s and children’s causes. She is the granddaughter of radio and television legend Arthur Godfrey, and serves as executive director of the Vincent T. Lombardi Foundation, which her father founded.

Proceeds from Beat the Deadline 5K benefit the Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library and its commitment to research and training for working journalists and scholarships for future journalists.
