Press Club journalism contest welcomes your funny and offbeat journalism

Offer your best humor writing from 2015 in the National Press Club’s journalism contest. Your humor writing deserves the recognition of the National Press Club, a national leader among journalism organizations.

The Angele Gingras award is named for a longtime Press Club member who specialized in writing amusing stories for magazines and newspapers and honors excellence in humor writing.

The deadline is April 1, so send in your entries soon. Details on the different awards categories and how to enter the contest can be found by clicking here.

Entrants are encouraged to enter online, but if you prefer, the Club will accept mailed entries postmarked before the deadline.

The Gingras award, along with those in many other categories, will be presented at an annual awards dinner at the National Press Club this summer.

The contest includes awards for political reporting, regional reporting on Washington, international coverage, consumer reporting, online journalism and newsletter journalism. It also includes a group of awards for areas as diverse as newsletter journalism, reporting on the welfare of animals, coverage of the journalism industry, the aviation industry and problems facing the elderly.
