PBS’ Judy Woodruff readies appearance on 'The Kalb Report' April 20 at 8 p.m.

At the pinnacle of a 40-year career in national broadcast news as co-anchor and managing editor of the PBS NewsHour, Judy Woodruff is planning to talk with host Marvin Kalb on "The Kalb Report" on April 20 at 8 p.m. in the National Press Club Ballroom.

Kalb and Woodruff are expected to talk about the presidential campaign that has defied conventional wisdom. Along with the presidential campaign, they are expected to discuss coverage of today’s global news, world press freedom, women in journalism, and the challenges public television faces in a perceived partisan media landscape.

Woodruff’s network-television career began with her coverage for NBC News of Jimmy Carter’s presidential campaign in 1976. She has served as chief White House correspondent for NBC and PBS, and as host of CNN’s Inside Politics before joining the NewsHour. She has had a front-row seat to world events, as well as some of the most notable campaigns, elections and political scandals in American history.
