Panel plans exploration of whether E-discovery software will replace lawyers, April 15, 3 p.m.

A panel of some of the leading experts in e-discovery will address the impact of new technology on the legal process at a National Press Club Newsmakers news conference at 3 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2013 in the club’s Zenger Room.

Last year for the first time federal and state judges published opinions allowing lawyers to use of new forms of software and technology to find responsive documents in huge data repositories.

The panel will tackle questions about whether the legal profession ready to embrace these new, algorithmic-based techniques and how the will affect employment prospects for the armies of young lawyers and contract attorneys now hired for large-scale document production.
