Panel to discuss youth violence in Mideast at June 28 Newsmaker

A three-member panel will discuss gang violence among youths in the Middle East at National Press Club Newsmaker at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, in the Club's First Amendment Lounge.

The panelists are Zainab Al-Suwaij, executive director of the American Islamic Congress and the implementer of Ambassadors for Peace in Iraq; Gary Slutkin, executive director of Ceasefire and developer of the "Contagion of Violence" model; and Jason Featherstone, executive director of Saving Our Streets, London.

Among their topics, the panelists will discuss how conflict resolution and use of the United States' approach to gang violence can be adapted to the Middle East.
