NPC to partner with Politics and Prose on Nov. 19 Book Fair

The National Press Club will partner with Washington’s largest independent bookstore, Politics and Prose, on the 36th annual Book Fair and Authors’ Night, Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013.

“Politics and Prose offers an invaluable connection to the community of authors and book-buyers, and the Club is fortunate to have as its partner an institution held is such high esteem,” said NPC president Angela Greiling Keane.

The annual fair draws the nation’s top pols, pundits and cultural icons to the Press Club. The event promises a robust crowd of book lovers, journalists and politicos seeking the latest titles across the genres – from cookbooks and children’s stories to history, sports, memoirs and mysteries - and a chance to mingle with the nation’s best authors.

Founded in 1984, Politics and Prose is Washington’s celebrated independent bookstore and culture hub. "We're delighted to be working with the National Press Club on this year's book fair," said co-owner Bradley Graham. "The Club has done a terrific job building the fair into a great literary happening, and joining with them we hope to help make it even better."

The event is a fundraiser for the Club’s Journalism Institute, a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that offers scholarships to journalism students, and research and professional development for the working press worldwide. Through our partnership with the SEED Foundation, the event will help develop the school library at the foundation’s Maryland campus.
