NPC Memorial Service for Bill Hickman, March 18

The National Press Club will honor late member Bill Hickman on Saturday, March 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The program will be held in the Holeman Lounge with a brief reception following in the First Amendment Lounge.

Hickman, a former journalist, was president and CEO of the National Press Building Corporation from 1981 to 1991 and directed the redevelopment of the National Press Building. He died November 10 of complications from lung cancer.

In the 1960s and 70s he was chairman of several club committees and was a member of the club's board of governors from 1968-1971. In recent years he was a volunteer in the National Press Club Archives.
