No rinky-dink course for NPC's Journalism Institute's inaugural golf tourney April 20

Participants in the National Press Club Journalism Institute's inaugural golf tournament on Friday, April 20, will have an opportunity to play on one of the top-ranked courses in the area.

The event will be held at the Country Club at Woodmore in Mitchellville, Md., an Arnold Palmer-designed course that was ranked No. 7 in the Mid-Atlantic region last year by Golf Digest magazine.

The top-rated course was chosen by the Institute not only to provide an enjoyable venue for entrants, but also to provide a challenging test of their skills.

There will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m., preceded by a pick-up continental breakfast and followed by a luncheon buffet and the awarding of prizes. Individual registration is $200, and various level corporate sponsorships are available

The NPC Institute is committed to training working journalists in a changing media environment through its Bloomberg Center for Electronic Journalism and to fostering the next generation of professionals through a competitive scholarship program. The tournament is a fundraiser to help support these initiatives.

Your tax-deductible donations to the Institute will ensure that America's newsrooms reflect the communities that they serve. Click here to register and to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.

Sponsors include Toyota Motor Company, Kia Motors America, Steptoe & Johnson, Edelman and Global Automakers.
