New Orleans, anyone? NPC celebrates Mardi Gras starting Feb. 15

"Pass a Good Time" in the Fourth Estate Restaurant and enjoy a three course dinner worth of a Cajun “Gumbo ya-ya,'' starting Wednesday, Feb 15, and continuing Thursday, Feb 16, Friday, Feb 17 and Fat Tuesday, Feb 21.

The week precedes Ash Wednesday, Feb 22, and is a time for y’all to “Laissez le Bon temp rouler:” $30 for members and their guests, $35 for non-members.

Three course Mardi Gras food will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; reservations are requested 24 hours in advance, but some space may be available for walk-in diners. Call 202-662-7638 or email [email protected] to reserve.

"Throw me something, mister!" may be the shout for beads, but dinner will include: Starters of Oysters Rockefeller, Vegetarian Creole Salad Bowl or Seafood Gumbo with Okra and Tomatoes. Entrees include: Shrimp and Chicken Etouffee, Baked Battered Chicken with Cornbread, Pan fried Chartres Street Stuffed Trout, and Vegetarian Spicy-stuffed Peppers, which make make you shout, "WHO DAT!" Dessert includes Praline Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce, Beignets and Bananas Foster.

The restaurant is also open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for brunch on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. serving the a la carte menu. To this we can only add, “Cher, it don madda.”
