The National Press Club's Journalism Institute plans to host a workshop on how LinkedIn can be useful for journalists on April 24 at 9:30 a.m. in the NPC's Bloomberg Room.

Registration is required at http://www.press.org/events/linkedin. The charge is $5 for NPC members, $15 for non-members.

Yumi Wilson, a journalism professor at San Francisco State Univesity and community manager for LinkedIn for Journalists, which has doubled to nearly 28,000 members in the last six months, will present a workshop focusing on how professional journalists can get the most out of LinkedIn by using it in their reporting. Wilson plans to show journalists how to find story ideas, sources and scoops via LinkedIn.

Past NPC President Rick Dunham of the Houston Chronicle and Lori Russo of Stanton Communications plan to give practical tips on how they've maximized their use of this powerful professional tool.

After the session all attendees will be eligible for a free one-year upgrade to LinkedIn Executive.
