Tickets still available for Press Club Headliners Luncheon featuring Amtrak CEO, July 12

Tickets are still available for the National Press Club Headliners Luncheon featuring Charles “Wick” Moorman IV, Amtrak’s president and chief executive officer, on Wednesday, July 12, in the Club's Ballroom.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for Club members (members may purchase two tickets at this rate) and $39 for all other non-member tickets. Purchase tickets online.

For questions, please email [email protected] or call (202) 662–7501. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase.

Moorman plans to discuss the importance of and challenges facing America’s passenger rail systems, and to talk about the construction of a new Penn Station in New York City and other infrastructure projects.

The speech comes as Congress is considering President Donald Trump’s pledge to invest $1 trillion in infrastructure.

Moorman became Amtrak’s CEO in September. Prior to coming to Amtrak, Moorman spent approximately four decades at Norfolk Southern Corporation and its predecessor Southern Railway.

Amtrak connects America with 21,000 route miles in 46 states, the District of Columbia and three Canadian provinces. Amtrak operates more than 300 trains each day — at speeds up to 150 mph — to more than 500 destinations. Amtrak also is the operator of choice for state-supported corridor services in 15 states and for four commuter rail agencies.

To submit a question in advance, put AMTRAK in the subject line and email to [email protected] before 10 a.m. on the day of the luncheon.

National Press Club members who wish to attend the pre-luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the luncheon to attend the VIP reception.
