Marvin Kalb to discuss Trump's danger to democracy March 14; screening of 'Good Night and Good Luck' to follow

Legendary journalist Marvin Kalb, the last correspondent personally hired at CBS News by Edward R. Murrow, will discuss the threats to democracy in the United States being posed by the Trump administration in a commentary at the National Press Club on Tuesday, March 14,at 6:30 p.m. in the Murrow Room.

His remarks will be followed by a screening of the film “Good Night and Good Luck,” which chronicles Murrow’s epic rebuke of Sen. Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s.

Registration is required here. The forum is free to members and students, and $10 for non-members.

Sponsored by the National Press Club Journalism Institute’s Press Freedom Committee, the event occurs during Sunshine Week, an initiative by journalism and other groups to promote open government.
