Legally unresolved GPS tracking issues to be discussed by attorneys at Oct. 18 Newsmaker

Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking issues concerning Fourth Amendment rights protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures are being challenged in courtrooms across the country. Virginia attorney Christopher Leibig, who has represented a client involved in a GPS tracking case, and attorney Steve Shannon, a former Fairfax County, Va., prosecutor who teaches criminal law and served in the Virginia General Assembly, will discuss elements of the issue that have not been resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court. The National Press Club Newsmaker begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 in the Club's Bloomberg Room.
