Learn logistics of covering inauguration, 9:30 am Dec. 13

With the deadline approaching to apply to be at the Capitol when President-elect Donald J. Trump is sworn in, leaders of two of the U.S. Senate press galleries overseeing credentials will be at the National Press Club this month to discuss logistics and answer questions.

The Dec. 13 program starts at 9:30 a.m. and will be held in the Murrow Room. An RSVP is required. The program costs $5 for Club members and $10 for other journalists.

Panelists will be Laura Lytle, director of the gallery serving daily press, and Justin Wilson, director of the periodicals gallery.

Here’s where to get information about inaugural credentials for your news outlet. The application deadline is Dec. 15:

Officials involved in other parts of the inaugural – including coverage from the National Mall, the parade route and the inaugural balls -- have also been invited to attend. Check back to this page or watch The Wire to see if we add panelists.

Also, another program will be held in early January on both logistics of coverage and tips from veterans who have covered inaugurals about how to get the best stories.

The Dec. 13 program is presented by the National Press Club Journalism Institute and the Club’s Professional Development Committee.
