Latin American journalists to discuss efforts to investigate crime & corruption, March 23

The International Center for Journalists, in coordination with the press club's International Correspondents Committee, invites Club members to attend a panel discussion on March 23 on reporting into crime and corruption in Latin America.

The discussion begins at 6 p.m. in the Holeman Lounge with a reception following at 7 p.m. To RSVP for this event, email or call Christian Madonna at [email protected] or 202-349-7618.

The event will feature investigative reporters who are doing ground-breaking work exposing corruption in Latin America:
Carmen Aristegui and her team disclosed a conflict of interest involving the Mexican first family and its $7 million mansion and in the process lost their jobs;
Ana Carolina Alpírez exposed a Guatemalan mayor who secured government contracts for personal gain, and
Suchit Chávez documented how organized crime claims many lives and goes unpunished in Central America, one of the most violent regions in the world for journalists.
