Journalism Institute seeks press freedom fellow

Want to help fight for press freedom? The National Press Club Journalism Institute is offering a press freedom fellowship to shine a light on barriers to press freedoms abroad and in the United States.

Individuals with expertise or interest are invited to seek the one-year, part-time position. A monthly stipend will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have experience both as a journalist and a manager and will monitor press freedom issues, write press releases and blog posts, advise the Club president and institute board on whether they need to get invovlved, serve as the liaisoin with other press freedom groups and help plan up to four major events per year.

The position will vary in hours per week but is expected to average 10-20. Hours are flexible and to be determined according to events and need by the fellow in coordination with the institute's executive director.
