It's not too late to join media, celebrities in 5K, June 11

Last-minute entries are still available to join race marshals Tony Horton, creator of P90X, CNN Newsroom anchor Suzanne Malveaux and celebrities and journalists from major media outlets in the National Press Club’s 14th Annual Beat the Deadline 5K Race on Saturday, June 11.

Packet pick-up and registration is Friday, June 10, from 12 noon until 7 p.m. at the Club, 13th floor, 529 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC.

Race day registration is from 6:15 a.m. until 7:15 a.m. at the corner of 14th and F Streets, N.W.

Horton will lead a pre-race warm up at 7:15 a.m. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. from the National Press Building. For more information on all race week activities, go to www.press.org/5K.

Celebrities running the race include Mary Amons from Real Housewives of DC and BiancaChardei, America’s Next Top Model.

Journalist participating include Eleanor Clift, Newsweek/The McLaughlin Group; Lisa Desjardins, CNN Radio Capitol Hill correspondent; Jill Dougherty, CNN; Tom Foreman, CNN correspondent; Vicky Hallett, Washington Post Misfits Columnist; Joe Johns, CNN correspondent; Jonathan Karl, ABC News; Brianna Keilar, CNN White House correspondent; Kathleen Koch, author and former CNN correspondent; Dan Lothian, CNN White House correspondent; Kate Michael, K Street Kate; Steve Scully of C-SPAN and journalists from many other media outlets.

The event will feature cash prizes for top finalists and door prizes and giveaways courtesy of Georgetown Cupcake, Dupont Hotel, Carmine's Restaurant, The W Hotel, Art & Soul Restaurant, ABC7/WJLA-TV, Curbside Cupcake, Living Social, Good Stuff Eatery/We the Pizza, JW Marriott, Heurich House Museum, Corner Bakery, NBWA and Bloomberg News.

Horton will lead a workout session at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at the Club. Afterwards, he will host a signing event for his new book, “Bring It!”
