IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman talks taxes at April 5 luncheon

Douglas Shulman, the 47th commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, plans to discuss the future of the U.S. tax system at a National Press Club Speakers Luncheon on Thursday, April 5.

In his capacity as IRS chief, Shulman presides over the nation’s tax system, which collects approximately $2.4 trillion in tax revenue that funds most government operations and public services. Now in his fourth year of a five-year term, Shulman plans to express his views on the future of the agency.
