IMF Managing Director to speak at Luncheon, Jan. 15. Sign up before the Christmas Break!

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde will discuss the world's economy at a National Press Club luncheon Wednesday, Jan. 15, in her first press appearance in 2014. Lagarde will speak immediately after returning from a trip to Africa.

As the leader of the IMF, Lagarde has in hand economic research of the organization's 188 member countries. She'll discuss the prospects for US and global economic growth, recovery in the European Union, and the IMF's mission to support low-income countries by increasing the availability of credit.

Lunch will be served at 1 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1:30 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2:30 p.m. NOTE: This is different from the customary NPC luncheon schedule.

Tickets cost $21 for Press Club members (Club members may purchase 2 tickets at this rate) and $35 for all other non-member tickets. Tickets may be purchased online by going to the following link.
