Hollywood writer-director M.Night Shyamalan to speak on education at Luncheon Wednesday, June 11

Hollywood writer-director M.Night Shyamalan will discuss his off-screen campaign to close America’s education achievement gap at a National Press Club Luncheon on Wednesday, June 11.

Known for such supernatural thrillers as “The Sixth Sense” and more recently the science fiction action film “After Earth,” he recently published a book, “I Got Schooled,” about the work of the foundation he and his wife founded to help inner-city students succeed.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $22 for Press Club members.
