Headliners Book Rap features Newt Gingrich, tomorrow, 10 a.m.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a top campaign surrogate for Donald Trump, will appear at a National Press Club Headliners Book Rap Friday, June 16, to discuss his new book about the 45th president, "Understanding Trump."

The event begins at 10 a.m. in the First Amendment Lounge. This event will feature a discussion with the author, an audience question-and-answer session and a book signing.

Tickets are $5 for Club members and $10 for the general public. Copies of the book can be purchased online at the same time as tickets or at the event. No outside books or memorabilia are permitted.

Register online.

In the book, Gingrich, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, shares what he learned from helping Trump's presidential campaign and then assisting the winning candidate move into the Oval Office. Gingrich talks about how Trump's business experience shaped his political agenda and approach to governing the country.

Proceeds from this event benefit the nonprofit affiliate of the Club, the National Press Club Journalism Institute, which offers training to journalists and communications professionals.
