Fox News' Kelly Wright issues media challenge for 5K

Kelly Wright, co-anchor of Fox News Channel’s “America’s News Headquarters,” is challenging fellow journalists to unseat USA Today as winning team for fastest and largest media team in this year’s Beat the Deadline 5K, Saturday, June 11.

Wright joins the all-star media lineup that includes CNN’s Suzanne Malveaux and Jill Dougherty, P90X creator Tony Horton and supermodel Kim Alexis.

Prior to joining Fox News, Wright anchored at WVBT-TV (FOX) in Norfolk, Virginia, and at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. He also reported for WWOR-TV in New York.

He began his journalism career in 1977, while serving in the United States Army. He has received numerous awards for his reporting, including two local Emmy Awards for developing, reporting and co-producing a documentary and news series on the transatlantic slave trade.
