Former White House CTO to discuss new book on entrepreneurial technology, July 22
July 1, 2014 | By Steven Olikara | firstname.lastname@example.org
Aneesh Chopra, formerly the White House's first chief technology officer, will discuss the entrepreneurial opportunities technology offers government to address challenges in public health, energy and education through his new book, "Innovative State: How New Technologies Can Transform Government."
The event will be held on July 22 at 6 p.m. in the Holeman Lounge. This is a ticketed event and registration is required.
Chopra in his book asserts that the federal government has not kept pace with the private sector's technological advances over the past 20 years.
At the White House, Chopra led the Obama administration’s efforts in becoming a more “open, tech-savvy government.” He is the co-founder and now serves as executive vice president of Hunch Analytics, a technology firm focused on improving the productivity of public sectors and the economy through data analysis.
Chopra will be interviewed by Millennial Action Project's President Steven Olikara. A book signing and reception will follow the discussion.
This event is a fundraiser for the National Press Club Journalism Institute. Books must be purchased through the National Press Club. You will be given the opportunity to pre-order a book during checkout for pick-up at the event. No outside books or memorabilia permitted. All sales are final; no refunds will be issued.
