Former national security adviser to analyze impact of Bin Laden death, May 16 luncheon

Gen. James L. Jones (ret.), former national security adviser for the Obama administration, will address a National Press Club luncheon on Monday, May 16.

Jones, a retired four-star general, will analyze the impact of Osama bin Laden's death on Al-Qaeda and on U.S.-Pakistan relations. He also will discuss the strategic goals of the United States in the dynamic Middle East, with an emphasis on Libya, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Israel, Palestine and northern Africa.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Jones' talk will begin at 1 p.m. and end at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 for Club members, $29 for guests of members and $36 for general admission.

Jones served as the 32nd Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps and Supreme Allied Commander in Europe before joining the Obama administration as national security adviser. He resigned that post in November.
