Former lobbyist Abramoff, reform leaders Penniman and Gilbert discuss fixing Washington March 5

Jack Abramoff, author of the book “Capitol Punishment: The Hard Truth About Washington Corruption From America’s Most Notorious Lobbyist,” for the first time will appear in public with two reform leaders dedicated to repairing the world Abramoff exploited.

Abramoff will join Nick Penniman, president of United Republic, an organization fighting the influence of well-financed special interests, and Lisa Gilbert, deputy director, Congress Watch, a division of Public Citizen. They will discuss ``What Will it Take to Change the Influence of Money in Politics?'' on Monday, March 5, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the National Press Club's Ballroom. Jonathan Salant, former Press Club president and a Bloomberg News reporter, who covered the federal investigation of Abramoff, will serve as moderator.

The event is free to NPC members and $10 for all guests of members or non-members who wish to attend. To reserve tickets, click here.
