Former Interior Secretary Babbitt on urgent environmental threats, June 8

Former Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt will outline the urgent threats facing U.S. land, water, wildlife and air at 1 p.m. June 8 in the Zenger room.

"At this critical juncture for our public lands, leaders in Washington have made stunningly little progress to advance our nation's conservation legacy and are setting progress back on a number of fronts," Babbitt said.

At the Newsmaker event Wednesday, Babbitt will argue that Congress and the Interior Department have prohibited land managers from offering protections to wilderness quality lands and have rolled back protections for threatened species.
