Food photography highlights April 29 National Press Club Photo Committee Lunch

The images on Renée Comet's website will make your mouth water. Comet, a Washington advertising photographer who specializes in food, plans to speak to a luncheon meeting of the National Press Club's Photo Committee in the Games Room at noon on April 29.

The title of her talk is expected to be "Thinking, Looking, Shooting and Eating." This event is free and open to all Press Club members.

Comet's work has appeared in cookbooks, advertising and packaging. Her clients have included Marriott International, Ritz-Carlton, the U.S. Postal Service, the Smithsonian and the Food Network. Her photographs illustrate many cookbooks, including, recently, The New Jewish Table, by Equinox Chef Todd Gray and Ellen Kassoff Gray. Comet is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology.

"Photographing food is like a visual feast with endless possibilities. Food is a lifestyle and all about connecting with people," Comet says. "For me each plate of food has a story to tell."
