Fitness author Horton and TV anchor Simpson to marshal 5K race June 9

Tony Horton, international fitness trainer and author will team with Cynne Simpson, anchor of ABC7/WJLA-TV, to marshal The National Press Club's 15th annual "Beat the Deadline" 5K race to benefit education and diversity in journalism, June 9.

The race will start at 7:30 a.m. at the corner of 14th and F st. N.W. Tony Horton will lead a pre-race warm-up with his P90X® Home Fitness program at 7:15 a.m. The race will be followed by the NPC Health & Fitness Fair, pancake breakfast, and awards ceremony. Cash prizes will be awarded for top finishers. Media and group team entries are encouraged. Race entry is limited. On Thursday, June 7, at 6:30 p.m., Tony Horton will hold an exclusive P90X® workout in the NPC Ballroom. Cost of entrance is $5 for NPC members and $10 for non-members. Space is limited and reservations can be made on the 5K website at www.press.org/5K.
