First-ever District Country rocks NPC ballroom

The National Press Club delivered its first-ever District Country live on Saturday, Feb. 21. NPC members, music fans, and locals alike came out to see rising Nashville stars Love and Theft, The Cadillac Three, Trailer Choir, and Tom Dixon.

In spite of a wicked snowstorm that started early Saturday morning, a hardy group of country music fans were able to make it through the snow to see some incredible acts in an intimate venue. One family even traveled all the way from Pennsylvania and spent the night Friday, to be sure to be first-in-line for a look at the bands.

All of the bands, including the headliner, expressed how incredible it was to play in such a unique space and couldn’t speak more highly of the vibes in the room on Saturday. And, those who stayed to the end were able to witness Trailer Choir and The Cadillac Three join Love and Theft on stage for rocking renditions of Garth Brooks’ “Fishing in the Dark” and “Drift Away” by Dobie Gray.

The first-ever live music event was sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, Toyota, and Dunbar, in partnership with 93.3 WFLS radio based in Virginia.

Pictures of the evening’s festivities taken by Noel St. John are available online now.
