The National Press Club will host a screening of the film "Just Like You" followed by a panel discussion on Down syndrome on Oct. 7.
The reception begins at 6 p.m., and the program concludes at 8:30. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
The event is part of Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. The film "Just Like You" centers on three teens living with the condition and their best friends, who shed light on their lives and why they are just like you in all the ways that truly matter.
Following the film, there will be brief remarks from an expert followed by a Q&A panel discussion featuring Richard Lowry, editor of National Review, and Dr. Roger Reeves, professor of physiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, among others.
