Ex-Philadelphia Mayor Nutter plans to review career at Headliners Book Rap, Feb. 15

Former Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter plans to appear at a National Press Club Headliners Book Rap at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb.15, to discuss his new biography, Mayor: The Best Job in Politics.

This event features a discussion with the author, an audience question-and-answer session, and a book signing. Tickets are $5 for Press Club members and $10 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased online.

When purchasing tickets, you'll have the option of buying copies of the book during the online check-out process. Books also will be available for purchase at the event. Proceeds from book sales will benefit the non-profit affiliate of the Club, the National Press Club Journalism Institute. The Institute asks that you leave all outside books and memorabilia at home.

In the book, Nutter draws on his lifetime of experience in politics to highlight the important work being done at the local level and to show how progressive and effective change can be made, not just in Philadelphia, but in cities across the country.

Nutter served for 15 years on the Philadelphia City Council before serving two terms as the city’s mayor. He left public office on Jan. 4, 2016, and shortly thereafter accepted an appointment to the Homeland Security Advisory Council and a professorial position at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He also is currently a political commentator for CNN.
