An Evening of Pols, Pundits and Prose – THIS Friday; Dinner available

You’ll find something for everyone on your literary holiday list at the National Press Club's 39th annual Book Fair & Authors’ Night on Friday, Nov. 18. Children will be delighted with NPC member Deborah Kalb’s time-travel adventure, "The President and Me: George Washington and the Magic Hat," or Mary Quattlebaum’s "National Geographic Kids Chapters: Together Forever; True Stories of Amazing Animal Friendships!"

Cooking enthusiasts should be sure to meet authors such as Domenica Marchetti, who will be there with her new book, "Preserving Italy: Canning, Curing, Infusing, and Bottling Italian Flavors and Traditions," and Patti Jinich, with "Mexican Today: New and Rediscovered Recipes for Contemporary Kitchens." They will be among close to 100 nationally known writers autographing and selling their books at the festive event scheduled from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Club’s historic Ballroom.

Admission is $5 for NPC and Politics & Prose members, $10 for non-members. Proceeds benefit the programs and operations of the National Press Club Journalism Institute. No outside books or memorabilia are permitted. For Info and Tickets go to www.press.org/bookfair

Guests are also invited to attend the Annual Book & Author/Roast Beef Buffet starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Reliable Source.
