Did you Scout? Head table seats available for NPC Luncheon with Girl Scouts CEO

Did you proudly wear the green? NPC members who were Girl Scouts or Troop Leaders can enjoy hearing from the CEO of the Girl Scouts, Anna Maria Chavez, at a National Press Club Luncheon on Monday, June 13.

Chavez, the first Latina to head the organization, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the highest honor in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award. Girl scouts devote as much as two years in a community service project they must develop in order to earn the award. Chavez, the force behind the Digital Cookie, has also instituted badges for STEM learning and financial literacy, and joined forces with Sheryl Sandberg and others to #BanBossy, to encourage girls to lead.

NPC members who are interested in a “front row seat” at the head table should contact Debra Silimeo at [email protected].

General tickets are still available. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $24 for Press Club members ( NPC Members may purchase 2 tickets at this rate) and $38 for all other non-member tickets.

Tickets may be purchased online by going to the following link.

For questions, please email [email protected] or call (202) 662 – 7501. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase.

NPC Members who wish to attend the pre- luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the Luncheon to attend the VIP reception. To submit a question in advance, put GIRLSCOUTS in the subject line and email to [email protected] before 10 a.m. on the day of the luncheon.
