Cote D'Ivoire prime minister to speak at June 19 Newsmaker

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, Jeannot Ahoussou-Kouadio, will speak at a noon Newsmaker on Tuesday, June 19 on recent political developments in that West African country.

Ahoussou-Kouadio will discuss the incursion of fighters from neighboring Liberia, which resulted in the closing of the Ivorian-Liberian border, and the status of former Ivorian president, Laurent Gbagbo, who is in the custody of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Gbagbo is accused of ``crimes against humanity,'' including murder and rape by his supporters, when he refused to leave office after losing the presidential election.
