Conservative philanthropist Jay Faison to advocate making clean energy a Republican election issue, 10 am March 8

Republican entrepreneur turned philanthropist Jay Faison, founder and chief of ClearPath, a new non-profit foundation dedicated to finding and promoting conservative clean energy policies, will outline the organization’s conservative approach to environmental and energy issues at a National Press Club Newsmaker 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8.

Faison also will detail the organization’s plans to influence policymakers and the role ClearPath intends to play in the 2016 elections. The Newsmaker news conference will be held in the club’s Bloomberg Room.

Last year, Faison made headlines when he announced that he was donating $165 million to start ClearPath with the goal of moving the Republican Party forward on clean energy.

Faison has said smaller government, free markets and American innovation are the best way to solve energy challenges and reduce environmental and health risks caused by air and carbon pollution.
