Co-creator of The Daily Show to discuss how she found her comedic voice 6/14

Lizz Winstead, co-creator of "The Daily Show," comedienne and social critic, will discuss how she found her comedic voice at a National Press Club Book Rap in the Conference Rooms on June 14, 6:30 p.m.

This event is free for Press Club members, $5 for non-members. To register and pre-order copies of the book, please go to www.press.org/events/winstead. Members should enter promotional code “comedy” for free tickets.

From her childhood longing to be a priest, to her role in developing "The Daily Show" and her life today (complete with two difficult dogs), Winstead has tapped an outrageous and heartfelt vein of the all-too-human comedy.

In a collection of autobiographical essays, Winstead vividly recounts how she fought to find her own voice, both as a comedienne and as a woman, and how humor became her most powerful weapon in confronting life's challenges.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Proceeds benefit the National Press Club Journalism Institute. No outside books will be permitted.
