Business reporters to discuss the economy’s impact on the presidential election, June 12

Contagion from Spain and Greece, the expiration of Bush tax cuts, automatic spending reductions and interest rates -- those are some of the economic issues that will be tangled up with the presidential election, just five months away.

Business reporters will discuss how the economy will affect the election Tuesday, June 12 at 8 a.m. in the Fourth Estate Restaurant.

Greg Ip, U.S. economics editor at The Economist, Jim McTague, Washington editor at Barron’s, and Ben White, Wall Street correspondent at Politico, will examine how the election winner will have major economic issues to work out.

Kathy King, an NPC Communicator member and senior vice president at Fleishman-Hillard, will moderate the panel, hosted by the NPC Communications and Marketing Committee.

Admission, including Continental breakfast, is free for NPC members and $5 for non-members. Click here to register and for more information: http://www.press.org/events/us-presidential-election-and-economy
