Baltimore mayor to urge presidential candidates to address urban issues at Oct. 7 luncheon

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will discuss the U.S. Conference of Mayors' Baltimore Compact -- an agenda that mayors want to put before the 2016 presidential candidates -- at a National Press Club luncheon Oct. 7.

Rawlings-Blake, whose city was hit by riots following the death of Freddie Gray in April, will appear shortly after the conference's leadership meeting, where they will develop the agenda.

The city on Sept. 22 announced a $6.4 million civil settlement with Gray's family.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $23 for Club members, who may purchase 2 tickets at this rate, and $37 for non-members. Tickets may be purchased online.

For questions, please email [email protected] or call (202) 662 – 7501. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase.

Club members who wish to attend the pre-luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the Luncheon to attend the VIP reception.

To submit a question in advance, put BALTIMORE in the subject line and email to [email protected] before 10 a.m. on the day of the luncheon.
