Tom Young, author of popular military novels, will discuss his latest thriller, “The Renegades,”at a National Press Club Book Rap at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24.
The event is free for Club members, $5 for guests and nonmembers. Reservations are required at email@example.com.
Copies of the book will be available for Young to sign, but no outside books are permitted. Proceeds will benefit the National Press Club Journalism Institute.
Young gained background for his novel by serving in Afghanistan and Iraq with the Air National Guard and flying combat missions in Bosnia, Kosovo, Latin America, the Horn of Africa and the Far East.
“The Renegades” has received a starred review from Publishers Weekly magazine. His previous two books, "Mullah’s Storm" and "Silent Enemy" earned numerous awards.
Young’s newest book is centered on American troops in Afghanistan, who are sent in after a ravaging earthquake and are confronted by a Taliban splinter group.
