Author to discuss capture of 9/11 terrorist mastermind April 11

Josh Meyer, former chief terrorism reporter for The Los Angeles Times and director of education and outreach for Medill’s National Security Journalism Initiative, will discuss his new book "The Hunt for KSM: Inside the Pursuit and Takedown of the Real 9/11 Mastermind, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed," in the Bloomberg Room on April 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Reservations are required for this event and may be made at [email protected] or by calling (202)662-7523. This event is free for NPC members, $5 for non-members. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Proceeds benefit the National Press Club Journalism Institute. No outside books will be permitted.

In “The Hunt for KSM," Meyer and co-author Terry McDermott delve deep inside the U.S.government's dogged but flawed pursuit of the elusive KSM. One pair of agents chased him through countless false leads and narrow escapes for five years before 9/11.

The book draws on a decade of investigative reporting and unprecedented access to hundreds of jihadists, members of KSM's family and support network, and other key sources -- many of whom have never spoken publicly.
