Aug. 1 Press Club luncheon to mark 100th anniversary of U.S. National Parks

National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis will speak at a National Press Club luncheon Monday, Aug. 1.

He will discuss the 100th anniversary this year of the system of national parks and the agency’s focus on creating the next generation of park visitors, supporters and advocates. Jarvis will also outline the challenges in trying to operate and maintain the expanding park system during an era of fiscal restraint.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a Q&A session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $24 for National Press Club members and one guest, and $38 for non-members.

Club members who wish to attend the pre-luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] at least 48 hours in advance. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the luncheon to attend the VIP reception.
