ASNE's Paulson to give "State of the First Amendment" on July 12

The First Amendment Center, in partnership with the National Press Club, Freedom Forum and the American Society of News Editors, will release results of its 2011 State of the First Amendment Survey on Tuesday, July 12, at noon in the National Press Club Conference Rooms.

Ken Paulson, ASNE president and First Amendment Center chief executive officer, will present the authoritative survey, which has explored public perspectives on First Amendment freedoms for the past 14 years, will focus on public attitudes toward a free press, the credibility of various news media and the rights of student news organizations.

This event begin with a luncheon starting at noon, with the speech beginning at 12:30 p.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 for National Press Club members and students, $29 for guests of members, and $36 for general admission.
