Another nonprofit joins Sept. 29 talk on international reporting grant opportunities

A fourth organization has signed up to participate in a Sept. 29 National Press Club evening panel discussion on international reporting grants and how to win one.

The Thursday Sept. 29 event goes from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the NPC's Conference Rooms and is sponsored by the NPC's International Correspondents and Freelancer committees. Tickets are free for members and $10 for nonmembers and can be purchased here.

Sandy Bergo, executive director of the Fund for Investigative Journalism, plans participate in the discussion alongside Nathalie Applewhite, managing director at the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting; Melody Schreiber, program manager at the International Reporting Project; and Elisa Tinsley, deputy vice president for programs at the International Center for Journalists.

The event is intended to educate attendees about the different types of available grants, including open grants and ones tailored to a specific topic. The discussion is expected to include information about current grant opportunities and application deadlines as well as advice for planning your foreign reporting trip once you've been selected to receive a grant.
