Another First! Monday, Sept. 14 NPC Event Now a “Breakfast from Outer Space”

The National Press Club’s Monday, Sept. 14 breakfast with astronauts Mark Kelly and Terry Virts will now be, in part, a “breakfast from outer space,” as the Club has arranged for a videolink with astronaut Scott Kelly –- Mark’s twin brother -– from the International Space Station.

The breakfast, which will follow the NPC luncheon format, will be the first-ever NPC event linked with an astronaut out in space. All three astronauts will take questions from members and guests about their mission work, which includes a twins study with the Kelly brothers, as well as the road to a possible 2030 manned journey to Mars.

Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. with a question-and-answer session starting at 9:00 a.m. The event ends at 10:00 a.m. Tickets cost $23 for Press Club members (NPC Members may purchase 2 tickets at this rate) and $37 for all other non-member tickets. For questions, please email [email protected] or call 202-662–7501. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase. Click here to jump to the ticket form.

NPC Members who wish to attend the pre-breakfast reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to the breakfast to attend the VIP reception.

To submit a question in advance, put SPACETALK in the subject line and email to [email protected] before 2 p.m. on the day before the breakfast.
