American Women Writers Topic of Oct. 23 Lunchtime Event

Dr. Thomas Stanley, director of the Harry Ransom Center humanities research library and museum in Austin, Texas, will speak at the National Press Club on American women writers at noon Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the McClendon Room.

Stanley, who has written extensively on literary subjects, will discuss "Adams to Wharton: The Ransom Center's American Women Writers."

The presentation will be preceded by a meet and greet at 11:30 a.m. and followed by Q-and-A and a social. The event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required. Nibbles will be provided, the Reliable Source buffet lunch will be available for purchase.

Stanley will be introduced by Roberta Shaffer, associate librarian of Congress.
