Actor Michael York to discuss his rare disease at Aug. 12 Luncheon

Award winning actor Michael York will describe the challenges he faces with the rare disease of amyloidosis and how he became a spokesperson for this little known ailment at an Aug. 12 National Press Club luncheon.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a Q & A session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $24 for Press Club members (Club members may purchase two tickets at that price) and $38 for all other non-member tickets. Tickets can be purchased here.

York appeared next to Liza Minnelli in the cinema version of the “Cabaret” musical and appeared in the all-star “Murder on the Orient Express” and as d’Artagnan in "The Three(and The Four) Musketeers." His most recent film is "The Mill and the Cross."

Michael York’s stepson is Star Wars producer Rick McCollum.
