A Treasure Trove of Archival Materials

The National Press Club Archives collects and preserves a treasure trove of archival materials from the National Press Club, the Washington Press Club (formerly the Women’s National Press Club) which merged with the NPC in 1985, and The Gridiron Club. The archives are available for research purposes to members of the National Press Club and historians.

The National Press Club Archives collects, preserves, describes, exhibits and makes available to researchers materials related to the history and activities of the National Press Club and the history of journalism, specifically in the Washington DC area.

The Archives provides research services for members and the general public. Basic reference requests are handled on a first come first serve basis free of charge. Due to limited staff, researchers with in-depth research requests are asked to perform their own research by making an appointment during regular business hours.
