On Tuesday, September 27, 2016, the Fourth Estate Restaurant will host a six course wine dinner with the Embassy of Hungary featuring traditional Hungarian dishes and Hungarian wines.

Featured items include roasted venison, perch fillet with dill mushroom sauce, appetizers such as Pogásca (savory cheese biscuits) and a traditional Hungarian dessert, Somlói (sponge cake dumplings). Hungarian wines will be expertly matched with each course.

The dinner begins with cocktails and appetizers at 6:30, dinner 7:00.

It will kick off a week's worth of activities around Washington DC and throughout the country celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight, one of the most important turning points in Hungarian history. Hungarians believe the revolution began the breakup of the Soviet Empire and ultimately led to the fall of communism. Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó will introduce a short film about Hungary and Ambassador Dr. Réka Szemerkényi will discuss other events planned for the commemoration.

Tickets are $80 per person, $155 per couple. National Press Club members receive a 15% discount.
