NPC Book Event featuring Jay Solomon and The Iran Wars

Jay Solomon, Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for The Wall Street Journal will discuss his latest book, The Iran Wars: Spy Games, Bank Battles, and the Secret Deals That Reshaped the Middle East, at the National Press Club on Wednesday, December 14 at 6:30PM in the NPC’s Conference Rooms.

Since 9/11, the United States has been engaged in a war with Iran as Momentous as any other in the Middle East – a war that has largely been hidden from public view. In The Iran Wars, Solomon offers a deeply reported primer on this decades-long power struggle and a sharp critique of how the Obama administration negotiated the historic and potentially disastrous nuclear deal.

This event will feature an author discussion, audience Q&A and book signing. Tickets FREE for this event, but please be sure to register to ensure admittance. Books can be purchased online at the same time as tickets or at the event. No outside books or memorabilia are permitted. Proceeds from this event will benefit the non-profit affiliate of the Press Club, The National Press Club Journalism Institute, which offers innovative, practical training to journalists and communications professionals working in a rapidly changing media environment.

About the Author

Jay Solomon is the Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for The Wall Street Journal. For nearly two decades, he’s written from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, including stints in Jakarta, Indonesia; Seoul, South Korea; New Delhi, India; and Washington, D.C. The Wall Street Journal has nominated him for three Pulitzer Prizes. Solomon was the first American journalist to uncover secret meetings between the United States and Iran that took place in Oman. He led coverage of the nuclear negotiations for the Journal from 2012 through 2015.
