Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro will speak at a National Press Club Speakers Newsmaker at noon on Tues., Jan. 13.

Castro will address the state of housing and HUD’s plans for the coming year.

Secretary Castro, a former mayor of San Antonio, is considered a rising star in the Democratic Party. He delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in 2012 and was the first Hispanic ever to give the keynote speech at a national political convention.

The National Press Club event begins promptly at 12:00 p.m. and conclude at 1:00 p.m. Castro will take questions after his speech. The event will be held in the First Amendment Lounge.

NPC members who wish to attend the pre-event reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] no later than 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a reservation to the newsmaker to attend the VIP reception.
